“The things I want to know are in books; my best friend is the man who’ll get me a book I ain’t read.” – Abraham Lincoln

Books are no doubt the best frineds, they take us with them into a world of imagination, creativity and intellect.

From the day of the learning of alphabets, we knowingly or unknowingly get into an eccentric and gigantic world of books; they may be of various types like magazines, hard cover type, printed or e books. They may vary in languages, topics, or scripts but the very common fact is that they carry within them an entire new world and by traveling with the words written in them, we can have a voyage and can obtain the experiences, albeit vicariously but strong enough to alter or influence our ideologies.

It is the books in which we can travel the untraveled places, can have the taste of foods never tasted, it is the books which can allow us to experience the dreadful circumstances of refugees of war and at the same time, it is the books which can make us feel magnanimous by presenting us the pleasant world of beautiful fairies and flower bedded earth.

It may be a concept that in the books it is the thinking of the writer that governs our journey with them, but looking in this aspect we can find it with ease that though the thinking of the writer remains in each section of the books but they only guide the reader and the reader, at each course of time, has the full liberty to analyze them, to criticize the, to appreciate them and to add his own creativity in framing those words into scenes.

The world of books is so vast that one can find the books of his taste in this world, be it friction, classic literature, sci fi, realistic books on contemporary issues or the ones on the subjects like economy, business, etc. This

The use of books is not limited to this point only; they provide a beautiful opportunity to learn the literature, usage of words and phrases and the art to replicate thoughts into words, a quality to express more effectively and congruently.

Although all the books carry some or the other information with them, but a few of them actually carry the hints to solve the complex mystery of life, id.est the way to live life, the way to look at the circumstances. In the words of English author Sir Francis Bacon,

Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested

Books are a true companion, an honest mentor, a friend to share and a mate to discuss, if we are with the books and are able to value them, no one on the earth can give us a better company than them.
